Chelsea v Man City, tonights winner will help narrow down the potentials of this season’s top 2. Chelsea are at 28 points and Man City is 38 points, a win tonight will take Chelsea 3rd and Man City will remain first regardless of the outcome. Chelsea will have to be on the top of their game to win, Chelsea go in to this match after winning 3 games in a row, all 3 ended in a 3-0 for Chelsea. Yet Man City go in dejected after being knocked out of the Champions League in their first season.
Team: David Luiz, who scored in this corresponding fixture last season, is suspended so Alex should be lining up along side JT. Frank Lampard will be hoping to receive his 350th start for Chelsea tonight. Drogba has scored 3 goals in the past 2 games, the big moster has gone back to the old days from the 2009/2010 season.
My Line up:
Cech
Ivanovich, Alex, John Terry, Ashley Cole
Ramires, Frank Lampard, Raul Meireles
Daniel Sturridge, Drogba, Juan Mata
Subs: Torres, Anelka, Kalou, Romeu, Mikel, Turnbull, Bertrand, Bosingwa
End Score: 2-1 to Chelsea with Drogba scoring at least one

Mario Goetze!!!!!!
Mario Goetze of BVB Dortmund has been crowned Golden Boy 2011, joining a list of prestigous names such as Wayne Rooney, Cesc Fabregas and Lionel Messi. Like I said the names a re prestigious but some of them such as abregas and, quite definetly, Messi have become to be known as one of the best in their respective position. Fabregas and Messi are both 24, both are graduates of the same Barcelona academy class along with Pique. Mario Goetze on the other hand is 19, just over a month older than Selena Gomez. I am very fond of this individual for two reasons; Firstly he is a german international player, already, and being German by birth I can’t help but feel an attachment to this kid. Secondly he is a player, probably the best, for BVB Dortmund; the team I have been supporting since back in the day in Germany. Goetze has rightfully deserved this prize. But his further development may be at risk; at Dortmund he is fine. Internationally he has stiff competition, Joachim Loew plays 4-2-3-1, Goetze is able to play in all 3 midfield positions. The problem is that the left wing belongs to Podolski and Schrulle. The playmaking position, his favourite, is taken by the awesome Mesut Oezil, who is only 23 and he, along with Schweinsteiger, is the star of the team so he is irreplaceable. The right wing is the one of Mueller, the winner of the Golden Shoe at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, he just like Podolski makes the list of “Very Important Players” for Germany. So Mario Goetze is often confided to the bench when it comes to International games, but domestically his football is on on point and he has been crowned the Golden Boy 2011 just for that reason.

My first visit to Canada in 2001

There were high aspirations for both of these guys and their clubs tonight. Man Utd went in knowing a win is what they need to safely progress through to the next stage of the Champions League; that too against a team such as FC Basel, not the most prestigious club in the world. Man City were in a postion, that unlike their city rivals, with more confusion. Man City needed to beat Bayern, a torrid task in itself, and hope Napoli are beaten by Villareal, an unlikely result. Chelsea and Arsenal passed through to the round of 16 last night.
Man Utd previously struggled against FC Basel. But hopes were high that the team that is in 2nd place in the toughest league of the world will beat a swiss team that should be meagre in comparison. Man Utd started the night as table leaders with 9 points along with Benfica with FC Basel 1 point behind. Man Utd needed to avoid defeat, pretty simple. Alas it wasn’t meant to be and Man Utd, until the last minutes of the match, were being mocked. Streller opened scoring at 9 minutes, it was 1-0 to FC Basel at half-time, nothing the Manchester giants couldn’t do. Frei, one of the best players in the squad, ensured FC Basel goes the whole way after scoring in the 84th minute. Man Utd chances were slim but Phil Jones gave them a glimmer of hope and scored in the 89th minute with stoppage time still left to go. Man Utd failed to score during stoppage time and lost. Sir Alex wasn’t happy nor was good old Wayne. I was surprised he didn’t say anything but then again what could he; Manchester United were atrocious.
FC Basel 2-1 Manchester United

Disbelief
Manchester City had to beat Bayern Munich and hope Villareal pull off a win against Napoli. Both tasks seemed a big mountain to climb, unfortunately for Villareal to beat Napoli you’d have to climb Mt Everest. Man City were against Bayern Munich. England No. 1 vs Germany No. 1. What a showdown and night of drama it was stting out to be; this is the very fixture where last time these guys met a few months ago that Tevez refused to play. Hart v Neuer and Aguero v Gomez. Man City quite clearly outdid themselves and climb the mountain, Man City won 2-0. Silva started the scoring just before half-time at the 37th minute. Good old YaYa Toure rounded it off after half-time during the 52nd minute, that was it. But Man City got wind that Napoli were winning and the team morale just dropped significantly.
Man City 2-0 Bayern Munich

The captain couldn’t save the downfall of his team
Both sides of Manchester will grace the Europa League starting 2012, along with the previous champions FC Porto who also crashed out. I’m personally exhilirated both of my favourite teams, Real Madrid and Chelsea FC, got through. Good old Villas-Boas knows what he’s doing. Next on the radar for Man City is the big Premier League clash against an in-form Chelsea on Monday Night. My score prediction; Man City 1-2 Chelsea
Come on Chelsea!
